HISTORY OF OIL PAINTING CLASS WITH ELAINE DALCHER
Elaine Dalcher has been teaching art for 30 years at all levels. She currently teaches art three days per week for the Grand Rapids Public Schools. Four years ago, Elaine was asked if she would offer a studio painting class. It was at that time, in 2005, that the class began. It has been running successfully since that time, offering adults the opportunity to paint in a studio environment with instruction as needed.
TESTIMONIALS
“I met a fun, imaginative person at my oil painting classes - it was me!” JT
Journal entry
Oil Painting Class is such a wonderful place to be - the space, and all us eager painters. Elaine is patient with our process and able to direct our energy toward our work -- working out our questions on perspective, color, value, angles, what to put in and what to leave out, reminding us to move forward with our ideas. I feel very fortunate to be part of this group - we all approach our work differently and Elaine is with each of us every step of the way. It is a safe and nurturing space. DF
“The encouragement and knowledge that I received during this class has given me the skills and the pleasure to paint. Now how cool is that...” S.M.
“Painting in Elaine's studio surrounded by her art is a treat in itself. Mix in the comeradery of fellow painters, the advice, tricks, and surprises of painting, the fun and helpful peer critiques, and it becomes a rare and wonderful combination! It's great fun!” -J.E.
